Tuition & Fees
Students must pay Pratt tuition and applicable fees while abroad for semester-long programs, just as they would while studying at the Pratt campus. Detailed information regarding costs can be found on the Undergraduate Tuition and Fees page.
- Fees: cannot be waived because you will receive similar services at the host school and Pratt will be providing the services to the students from the host school, except for Student Health Services Fees and Student Activities Fees, which are waived for outbound study abroad students.
- Health Insurance: You must pay for health insurance. See the Education Abroad Q&A for more details.
- Housing: Pratt Housing will be charged for students going to Bauhaus University and Musashino University of Arts, as accommodations are provided as part of the exchange agreement. Students must budget for and arrange their own accommodations if participating in other programs.
Students for summer/spring break programs must pay the cost of each program, which will change depending on the location and duration of the program. After the student is accepted into the program, the student will need to make a deposit of $500 in order to save the spot in the program and then pay the full price before departure.
Additional Fees
These vary from country to country and include:
- Visa fee
- Residency fee (students are responsible for their own travel, housing, and dining arrangements, as well as any other personal expenses for the duration of their program).
- Students going to schools in Germany must pay some fees required of all foreign students in Germany.
Pratt students are required to enroll in health insurance through GeoBlue for the duration of their time abroad. This is mandatory, no exceptions will be made. This is the policy of Pratt Institute. Regardless of any health insurance students may already have for the states or abroad, GeoBlue must be used for the duration of Pratt facilitated programs.
Making Payments
Pratt Institute will no longer accept debit/credit cards directly in-person, by mail, fax, or over the phone for payment of tuition, housing, meal plan, and fees. However, debit/credit cards can be used to pay online through Point & Pay via your MyPratt Portal account.
Point & Pay is an independent third-party processor that accepts payments credit card payments and charges a non-refundable convenience fee based on the amount charged. Credit card payments will incur a fee of 2.5% PER TRANSACTION which is assessed by Point & Pay our third-party payment processor and not Pratt. The convenience fee is paid in full to and retained by Point & Pay and Pratt Institute does not receive any of this fee. The charge for the convenience fee will appear separately from the payment on your card statement. To make a debit/credit card payment, log in to MyPratt portal using your credentials as instructed below.
In order to help mitigate the spread of Coronavirus, and be as safe as possible, we will no longer be accepting cash.
- Log in with your OneKey at my.pratt.edu.
- Click "Log-In"
- On the left side of the page, Click Academic Tools
- After the system logs you in, click on the "STUDENTS" menu on the sidebar
- Under Bursar you can choose to "Make a payment" or "My Tuition Bill" to view your bill.
- Student Financial Services provides full service at the window during normal business hours. All paper checks must be payable to Pratt Institute in U.S. dollars and drawn on a U.S. bank. Please include your student ID number on the check. We do not accept foreign coins or currency for payment.
PLEASE BE ADVISED ANY CASH AMOUNTS PAID TOTALING $10,000 OR MORE MADE WITHIN A 12 MONTH PERIOD, THE IRS FORM 8300 WILL BE COMPLETED AND SENT TO THE IRS. PLEASE BE SURE TO HAVE PHOTO ID.
Financial Services
If you are receiving financial aid, you can use it during your semester-long programs. You should make an appointment as soon as possible with your Student Financial Services Counselor. They will assist you with the distribution of your aid to cover the additional costs of studying abroad.
