You can find resources on accessing the Pratt Brooklyn campus here. You are responsible for ensuring you meet all various requirements to access in-person classes and other activities.

Health Forms
Review health and immunization forms and requirements and upload your records ASAP. You will not be able to register for classes until you have uploaded all of your health forms.

For further assistance with these forms, please contact the Health Services Office at health@pratt.edu or +1-718-399-4542.

Registering for classes

In order to complete course registration, you must complete the following:

  1. Health Forms to avoid any holds on your account
  2. Course Planning in Self Service
  3. Course Approval in Self Service with your departmental advisor
  4. Official Registration in Self Service on your scheduled date and time

Exchange Student Registration Form

An up-to-date list of courses offered during the Spring semester, will be provided by the department contact assigned to you. If you have questions about the courses, we recommend reaching out to the contact/chair/international coordinator of your academic department (you can find the contact information list HERE). You will work with them to complete your Exchange Student Registration Form PDF

In order to register for courses, you must complete the Exchange Student Registration Form.

Course Planning in Self Service

Registration is on a first-come basis so it is important that you complete your course planning in Self Service and request review with your departmental advisor prior to registration opening. Please note that we cannot guarantee that you will be able to register for the classes that you specified in your exchange application

To get started, search for classes in the Self Service course catalog. Use the filters to narrow your options by semester, campus, or time of day. Plan your courses by clicking “Add Course to Plan” for the upcoming semester. These will be the courses you have finalized with your departmental advisor on your Exchange Student Registration Form.

For detailed course planning instructions, visit the registration tutorial

Course Approval in Self Service

When you have planned all of your courses, navigate to “Plan & Schedule,” click on the “Advising” tab, and send your departmental advisor a request to review your course plan, allowing time for them to approve of your courses before your official registration time on November 12th at 8 AM EST. In order to register for any course, you must get it approved by your departmental advisor in Self Service. We recommend you complete this process by October 20th, 2025, as courses fill up quickly and you will be left choosing from the courses that have available seats.

For detailed approval instructions, visit the registration tutorial.

Official Registration in Self Service

When your registration time arrives, you can register for all of your approved classes. For detailed registration instructions, visit the registration tutorial

Lastly, it is your responsibility and your home school’s responsibility to ensure the classes you take at Pratt are transferred to count towards your graduation requirements.

Tuition and Fees
Tuition and general fees will be waived for exchange students within a month of the semester starting. However, you will be responsible for individual course fees for your selected classes because course fees are not covered by our exchange agreements. Bauhaus University students also pay the student activity fee. You can visit the Student Financial Services website to learn more about fees associated with some of your courses. You will receive an email when your bill is viewable on the MyPratt portal. Your transcript of grades will not be released if you do not pay your bill for your course fees.

The deadline for paying your tuition bill can be found on the academic calendar.

Housing
Please email Jason LeConey, Assistant Director for Housing with Residential Life at Pratt, at jleconey@pratt.edu, if you would like to apply for on campus housing. Please specify your name, Pratt ID, and the partner school you are coming from. Housing assignments are completed on a date-driven basis, so applying sooner is better, and you can view housing costs here

Partner schools with an Exchange Housing agreement are: Bauhaus University, Musashino Art University, Southern Cross University, and Amsterdam School of the Arts. Please specify to Jason LeConey if you are from one of these schools with Exchange Housing agreements. Students from these schools must live on campus as part of your Exchange Program, and you will be placed in Willoughby Hall, the Townhouses, or Grand Avenue Residence. Pratt housing charges will be waived for students from these schools.

For students from other partner schools without an Exchange Housing agreement: it is optional for students to live on campus, and a housing assignment is not guaranteed. Based on the date of your completed housing request, if and when Pratt is able to offer you an on-campus assignment, then you will pay the charges via your Student Account at Pratt. If you choose to live off campus, you are responsible to secure and pay for your own housing.
